Panarea & Stromboli private boat tour
“Between refined white and black stone: a private route at sea”
Leaving the port of Salina, we will soon reach Panarea, the smallest island of the Aeolian archipelago. Despite its size, Panarea is one of the most fascinating islands, surrounded by numerous volcanic islets that reveal how it was once part of a much larger volcanic complex.
Today, it is known as the most elegant and fashionable island of the Aeolians, loved by artists, travellers and sea lovers.
Our first stop will be the beautiful bay of Cala Junco, considered one of the most stunning natural swimming pools in the Mediterranean. This ancient volcanic amphitheatre, once used by the Greeks as a natural harbour, offers crystal-clear waters with seabeds ranging from deep blue to emerald green — perfect for a refreshing swim.
Continuing our navigation, we will reach the islet of Basiluzzo, completely uninhabited and shaped by wind and sea.
Along the route, we will admire Lisca Bianca and Lisca Nera, known for their underwater fumaroles and warm water bubbles, and Dattilo, easily recognisable by its pyramid shape. Its rocky walls, rich in sulphur and crystallised alum, resemble a natural harp sculpted by time. In this unspoilt setting, there will be swimming stops and moments of relaxation, accessible only by boat.
The stop on Panarea will continue with free time to stroll through the charming village, along its whitewashed streets, colourful flowers and elegant “chic” boutiques. The absence of large hotels helps preserve the island’s exclusive and authentic atmosphere.
Leaving the small harbour of San Pietro, we will head towards Stromboli, one of the most active volcanoes in Europe. Its crater has been erupting almost continuously for over 2,000 years, earning it the ancient name “Lighthouse of the Tyrrhenian Sea”, as its natural explosions once guided sailors during night navigation.
Before reaching the island, we will enjoy a spectacular sunset near Strombolicchio, the remains of Stromboli’s ancient volcanic chimney and one of the oldest volcanic formations in the Mediterranean.
After sunset, we will sail beneath the famous Sciara del Fuoco, a steep lava slope formed over centuries.
Here, we will stop to relax with a glass of good wine and a light aperitif, while witnessing one of nature’s most extraordinary spectacles: glowing explosions of lava fragments and streams of molten rock slowly flowing into the sea, creating a dramatic contrast between fire and water.
