Private Boat Excursion to Lipari and Vulcano
“Turquoise bays, volcanic sea stacks and Aeolian villages”
We will start the tour heading towards the Lipari Pumice Quarries, a fascinating site that represents one of the most important historical moments of the Aeolian Islands.
Here stands the famous white pumice mountain, once extracted, processed, and exported worldwide.
The turquoise waters around the quarries offer a perfect setting for swimming and snorkeling during our first stop
We will then slowly sail to the picturesque fishing village of Marina Corta, where guests can disembark and enjoy about 2 hours of free time to stroll through the charming streets and browse the local shops in the historic center.
Leaving Lipari, we will cross the narrow channel separating it from Vulcano, skirting the extinct crater of Vulcanello and reaching the island’s western coast.
Here we will admire the famous Grotta del Cavallo and the Piscina di Venere, two of Vulcano’s most iconic natural attractions. This stop includes swimming and snorkeling in clear, inviting waters.
The tour continues toward the two volcanic “necks”, known as the Faraglioni of Pietra Lunga and Pietra Menalda, spectacular volcanic stacks shaped by Aeolian winds and sea erosion — a must-see for visitors arriving by boat.
We will also admire the Scoglio del Papa and the Arco degli Angeli, finishing with a relaxing stop at Valle Muria Bay, renowned for being sunny throughout the afternoon.
Finally, we will sail back to Salina, enjoying breathtaking views of Lipari’s western coast, with mountains changing color from the red of kaolin to the yellow of sulphur, passing by the Torricelle, before returning to Salina’s port.
